Lactobacillus acidophilus and Bifidobacterium bifidum are both resident organisms found in the human intestinal tract. Modern day diets, stress and antibiotic therapy can all have an impact on these sensitive organisms.

L. acidophilus may lessen the proliferation of yeast organisms such as Candida albicans in the intestinal tract
L. acidophilus helps to reduce the unfriendly bacteria by producing natural antibiotic substances ‘on site on the intestinal wall.

Bifidobacterium helps to reduce opportunistic bacteria and the absorption of protonated amines
Bifidobacterium helps with lipid metabolism and in the reduction of available cholesterol in the diet.

L. casei and B. longum are transitory organisms that exert a positive influence on intestinal pH
