"Hemaplex 60 capsules - Progressive labs.
Each capsule iron 32mg, from iron peptonate 200mg, vitamin c (ascorbic acid) 200mg, vitamin b-1(thiamine HCI) 2mg, vitamin b-2 (rioflavin) 2mg, vitamin b-6 (pyridoxine HCI) 2mg, vitamin b-12 (cyanocobalamin) 50mg, folic acid 400mcg, niacin (vitamin b-3) 13mg, niacinamide (vitamin b-3) 15mg, base 50mg.
Includes:
raw duodenum, liver and stomach, red bone marrow, beef peptone, citrus pectin, betaine HCI, bile sales, rose hips alfalfa and wheat germs.
Suggested use:
One capsule daily, or more, as directed by a doctor.
Many iron supplements, however, cause bowel irritation resulting in either diarrhea or constipation. Hemaplex will not cause these symptoms. Iron in the body is found primarily in hemoglobin which transports oxygen from the lungs to tissues throughout the body and myoglobin which supplies oxygen within muscle cells. Therefore, iron is the main determinant of the oxygen supply to the cells. In addition, hemoglobin is an excellent acid-base buffer. Red blood cells are responsible for approximately 70% of all the buffering power of whole blood. Iron is also required for collagen synthesis by enzymes in the hydroxylation of proline and lysine.
