PHYSIOLOGY:
Calcium Effervescent dissolves completely and is converted to free, absorbable calcium in your glass--not your stomach. It is 100% absorbable by the body in 5 minutes and it causes no bloating or constipation. Since calcium absorption is most rapid in the upper small intestine, it is time-limited and any significant delay in the release of calcium will reduce the amount absorbed. Some tablets may pass through the system without disintegrating or only partially disintegrated. As a result the body absorbs only part of the calcium or none at all. Vitamin D further enhances calcium absorption and works with the parathyroid hormone to regulate the amount of calcium in the blood.
